Photos from Crafton Heights & Heinz Hall
Here are some photos from our first two Winter Concerts in Crafton Heights on December 4th, and our surprise performance before Yo-Yo Ma’s concert at Heinz Hall with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on December 6th. Enjoy! A special thank you to Erlina Adler and Mike Paine for their photography work.
-
- Our excellent treble ringers. Beth Dakin is demonstrating six-in-hand, a handbell technique used to ring three bells in the same hand, either at the same time or independently.
-
- That’s one big Christmas tree! The giant Christmas tree is one of the highlights of any December concert at Heinz Hall. It was the perfect backdrop for our performance.
-
- Our performance space was smaller than we’re used to; this modified U layout was the best fit for the Heinz Hall lobby.
-
- Audience members could watch us from the main floor, as well as two separate balcony areas in the lobby. Notice the blue glow? That’s from our new cordless stand lights – our first equipment purchase!
-
- Yo-Yo Ma’s performance with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra was completely sold out-over 2000 concertgoers had an opportunity to hear Three Rivers Ringers in the main lobby.
-
- Our percussion duo. On the left is Bobbie Calhoun – Bobbie is a part-time member of Three Rivers Ringers, as she spends most of the season in Florida. On the right is Mary Paine, Three Rivers Ringers ringer and board member. Mary has been on the “disabled list” this fall, but has been Nancy Lutz’s assistant at rehearsals and has been of invaluable help to us.
